Education helps people become better citizens, understand the difference between good and bad and at the same time to grow and develop. This will enable us to shape a better society with good citizens.
“Education is the most powerful weapon to change the world.” – Nelson Mandela
But it is unfortunate that all the children are not able to get the education which we talk about.
According to a CRY report, over 99 million children in India drop out of school at a young age. This means that at least 1 out of every 4 children doesn’t get proper primary education. Only about 32 children out of every 100 children complete the necessary schooling and only 2% of schools in India offer complete schooling from class I to class XII. While public schools lack resources and infrastructure, the ever-increasing cost of private schools prevents most children from receiving proper education.
The good quality education is something which every child should get regardless of their family background and community to which they belong. We strive to get educated in order to experience a good livelihood. As education being an integral part of our life, spreading awareness about education will support development in education system and more opportunities for children to study.
EDENS Educational and Charitable Trust, a non-profitable NGO support students belonging to the lower economic strata from the villages of Tamil Nadu who are struggling to meet the expenses of education in schools and colleges for the past 7 years.
The under privileged students from the low economic background are spotted out by EDENS and are given the financial support to continue their studies.
EDENS have supported 68 students so far and out of them 43 students completed their schoolings, 16 students have completed their Diploma course, and 9 students have completed their Degree and engaged in job.
This year there are 14 students under our care and the Trust needs financial support from kind-hearted people so that the students are able to continue their education. The average requirement for one child is around Rupees 35000/-per year and hence total requirement of this academic year is Rupees 5 lakhs. We need people who could financially support the mission of educating the deserved students in the society.
